BARBERA D’ALBA SUPERIORE DOC

Our Barbera selection. We obtain this great wine from our vineyard located between Montaldo Roero and Baldissero d’Alba. A selection of the 20 highest rows with south-west exposure. In the vineyard, in addition to leaving fewer buds on the fruiting head, we let the grapes ripen for a week longer than the Barbera d’Alba.
In the cellar, thanks to a 15–18 day maceration on the skins, we achieve a wine with great structure and typical acidity, beautifully balanced by the alcohol.
After vinification, it is aged for 12 months in medium-toasted oak barriques.

Vintage on sale: 2023

Color: intense ruby red color with purple and black highlights, tending towards garnet with aging
Bouquet: broad, fresh, and fruity bouquet, intense, with light notes of vanilla on the finish, cherry and wild berries, but also notes of undergrowth, licorice, and cocoa.
Palate: juicy, austere, elegant; with proper bottle aging (at least 2 years from bottling), the acidity reaches greater balance.
Food pairings: Pairs perfectly with very flavorful dishes. Excellent with pasta starters with game ragout and braised or grilled red meats and aged cheeses. Also a perfect glass for an aperitif with snacks and cold cuts.
