NEBBIOLO D’ALBA DOC Valmaggiore

Produced from one of the estate’s historic vineyards, on the steep and sun-drenched hill of Valmaggiore, long considered the cradle of the finest Nebbiolo wines on the left bank of the Tanaro.
The vineyard was planted by Grandfather Antonio and his brother Giovanni, before the latter was called to arms during World War II, which is why we have a very close bond with it.
The 40% slope does not allow tractor access, so all work must be done manually. Furthermore, the space between rows is very limited (approximately 1 meter) and the structure has remained unchanged over the years. Just consider that today in a vineyard the distance between rows must allow passage of machinery and therefore averages 2.50 meters.
The vineyard faces southwest and is located at the top of a hill, surrounded by the wild woods of Roero, through which the Sentiero del Tasso trail also passes (https://www.ecomuseodellerocche.it/it/sentieri/18/sentiero-del-tasso).

Vintage for sale: 2023

Color: Wine of intense ruby red color with garnet reflections, elegant and brilliant. In the glass it appears fluid, forming wide and pronounced arches.

Aroma: aromas of overripe red fruit and vanilla, with notes of coffee on the finish.

Taste: elegant and pleasantly fresh, it presents a good full tannic structure that achieves greater balance with bottle aging. Structured and refined, it maintains even after aging the freshness characteristics typical of Roero wines, thanks to second-passage barrels.

Food pairings:A full-bodied yet elegant and refined wine, it pairs excellently with robust meat dishes (roasts and game) and well-aged cheeses, but also expresses its qualities with first courses (agnolotti, gnocchi, tagliatelle).
